Pre requisites: Your company should have an online presence before engaging in any eMarketing. Your company should have direct control over the content of your online presence and it should explain your company’s brand, provide contact information and other content that will encourage and enable your online visitors to do business with you.

Definitions of other critical eMarketing components
The tools described below are not marketing methods themselves, but
are necessary for creating a successful marketing campaign.

Digital marketing is an umbrella term for the marketing of products or
services using digital technologies, mainly on the Internet, but also
including mobile phones, display advertising, and any other digital medium.[1]

The way in which digital marketing has developed since the 1990s and
2000s has changed the way brands and businesses utilize technology
and digital marketing for their marketing.[2] Digital marketing campaigns are becoming more prevalent as well as efficient, as digital platforms are increasingly incorporated into marketing plans and everyday life,[3] and as people use digital devices instead of going to physical shops.[4][5]

Digital marketing techniques such as search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), content marketing, influencer marketing, content automation, campaign marketing, data-driven marketing[6] and e-commerce marketing, social media marketing, social media optimization, e-mail direct marketing, display advertising, e–books, optical disks and games, are becoming more and more common in our advancing technology. In fact, this extends to non-Internet channels that provide digital media, such as mobile phones (SMS and MMS), callback and on-hold mobile ring tones

What are analytics?

Overview of Google Analytics ( click here for the 40 minute how to video)

Analytics refers to analyzing data to measure the success of your program. The data is collected by your website, platforms or 3rd party systems like Google Analytics. You can view your email analytics in 3rd party systems like Constant Contact to see how many people opened the emails and clicked on links or content.

Website analytics shows you where people came from, what they did on your site, how long they were there, and more. This helps you decide if your marketing campaign is working and how well your web presence is performing.

What is target market and marketing optimization?
Target market is the group of the population you are trying to reach to buy your product or service. They should be distinguishable by demographic factors such as age or gender and, increasingly important, by their interests, values, needs, and beliefs. It is critical that your company understand the motivations and behaviors of your target audience to support development of a successful campaign. Your company needs to know where your target market is online, what they will respond to and share with others, and what will motivate them to take action on in regard to marketing messages. Different eMarketing methods may work better for some market segments than others.
